About the internship

Interns at Summit Associates will have the opportunity to gain insight into real estate law and title insurance analysis while working alongside experienced legal professionals. Interns will assist with a variety of tasks, including reviewing contracts, analyzing title binders, and supporting day-to-day office operations. They may also have the opportunity to attend client meetings or real estate closings to observe legal processes in action. This internship offers valuable exposure to the legal field, allowing interns to develop their analytical skills, understand legal documentation, and gain practical experience in a professional law firm environment. Interns will receive for the $1,200 stipend after the 100 hour minimum requirement is met.

Requirements

Qualifications

Responsibilities

▸ Assist in reviewing and organizing real estate contracts, title binders, and legal documents under the supervision of attorneys and paralegals
▸ Conduct basic legal research on real estate and title insurance matters to support ongoing cases and transactions
▸ Observe and take notes during client meetings, contract negotiations, or real estate closings, if scheduling permits
▸ Assist with document preparation and case filing, ensuring accuracy and proper organization
▸ Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive client and legal information
▸ Follow office procedures and assist with routine administrative tasks to support the firm’s daily operations
▸ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising attorney or paralegal to contribute to the firm’s workflow

As a non-profit dedicated to serving the Asian American community, this program is open exclusively to applicants who identify as Asian American, as defined by the U.S. Census.

How long is the program?
The program runs for six weeks, from early July through mid-August. It can also vary depending on each experience. Check each application page for further details.

How many hours do I need to complete?
Interns are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours over the course of the program. Scheduling will depend and vary from each experience.

Do interns receive compensation?
Yes, interns will receive a $1,200 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from the internship site.

The China AIDs Fund board will review and finalize participants by the end of March 2025.

Can I get a scholarship after completing the internship?
