About the volunteer experience
Volunteers at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital will have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of healthcare systems while supporting hospital staff and patients. Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks, including providing patient support where permitted, helping hospital staff with day-to-day operations, and learning the intricacies of hospital workflows. This volunteer program offers hands-on experience in a clinical environment, allowing interns to observe patient care, assist with administrative tasks, and gain insights into the healthcare field. Interns will receive for the $1,200 stipend after the 100 hour minimum requirement is met.

Responsibilities
▸ Assist hospital staff with non-clinical tasks to support daily operations
▸ Escort and transport patients within the hospital as needed
▸ Provide basic comfort services, such as offering water, snacks, or blankets to patients and their families
▸ Observe healthcare professionals in various departments to gain insight into hospital operations
▸ Support patient check-in processes and direct visitors to the appropriate departments
▸ Assist in community outreach programs and hospital initiatives
▸ Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a patient-centered approach at all times
